What is a Gadget?
A gadget is a small technological gizmo (such as a device or an appliance) that has a particular function, but is often thought of as a novelty. Gadgets are invariably considered to be more unusually or cleverly designed than normal technology at the time of their invention. Gadgets are sometimes referred to as gizmos.

The origins of the word "gadget" trace back to the 1800s. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, there is anecdotal evidence for the use of "gadget" as a placeholder name for a technical gizmo whose precise name one can't remember. There are mechanical gadgets, electronic gadgets, programmable gadgets, and computer application gadgets ( Wikipedia). There are large gadgets and small gadgets; inexpensive gadgets and costly gadgets. Some gadgets make our lives managable - others gadgets just amuse us. Gadgets are all around us: gadgets are in our homes and yards; gadgets are in our automobiles; gadgets are on our cosmetic shelves and counters. Some gadgets help keep us safe or make our lives easier and some gadgets are really HARD TO FIND. That's where we come in.
